The semi-cathedral hull of 4.5m length and 1.85m beam , weighing in at approx 220kg and powered by a Mariner 50hp outboard – only to be used in cruisin’ mode of course – was transported from manufacturer Virgo Marine Ltd., Wirral on her new Snipe trailer and launched on Sunday 30th December 2001.
The Virgo Sea Hunter has a clear cockpit area allowing a generous working space for the carrying and laying of race marks and equipment and together with a decent sized cabin with seating affords improved protection from the weather when lying at anchor.
The support boat is mainly used for the WCA Winter series running from November through to March but can be launched for one off events during the summer months if required.
Look out for reg.no. 57456 on the lake . The boat will have Windermere Cruising Association / www.windermere-cruising.org alongside her hull .
