We would welcome any interesting
stories, yarns, or photographs about the WCA . We can't promise to place all
contributions on the site but we will do our best.

"E-Mails with virus warnings"
You may receive an e-mail
warning you of a new virus from someone in your address book.
It warns of total destruction of your Hard
Disk this allegedly is not true and probably is a hoax.
It may come from a trusted friend and have some reference to warnings being
issued by the police.
It will probably tell you to forward it to everyone in your address book.
If everyone who received this e-mail did forward it the e-mail system would
grind to a halt.
If you do receive an e-mail of this nature first don't panic. Secondly if a virus name is quoted then put it's name in google and perform a search
E-Mail and Spam.
During the last
few months I have been receiving a fair amount of spam e-mails.
I have taken various actions to try and reduce this mostly by using the rules in
MS Outlook.
In the event you send an e-mail to the WCA for which you require a reply and
none is forthcoming then please either resend it or contact one of the officers
on the contact page.
When sending e-mails to the WCA webmaster would you please ensure that the subject field is completed with something that relates to the e-mail's contents. (Including the letters WCA would help)
Missing Information.
I have had a
few comments lately about information not being on the website. There are two
possible reasons for this.
The first is I have not been able to get the information on the site as quickly
as I would like to due to other commitments.
The second reason is a problem with the way Internet Explorer works and is
giving me some criticism (Thank you Bill Gates) .
The problem is very easily solved with just a couple of clicks of the mouse.
If you think some information is missing from a page that you think should be there just click the Refresh button on your browser a couple of times this will reload the page and should pick up the missing information... (This will work for all versions of Internet Explorer)
or you can adjust you Explorer settings as below. This is not infallible but can help. (These instructions are for Internet Explorer 6)
Open Internet
Explorer and click Tools then select Internet
Options and select the General Tab.
Click on the Settings Button and select Every
Visit to the Page.
Use the ? at the top Right of the settings box for a full explanation on how each option works.
