I hope you find the site both interesting and informative and hopefully this will give you an introduction to the purpose and activities within Windermere Cruising Association (WCA). However we can only offer an overview of the functions of the association on this site, should you require further help or information, please write to the webmaster at:

Club membership is for people whose main interest is sailing, cruising or racing, and we aim to provide a friendly and helpful environment for sailors and families whilst out sailing on Lake Windermere.

The association does not have its own club house but, the varied and interesting social calendar makes up for the lack of premises. Indeed many of our members have joined with the wish to spend more time on their boats rather than in the clubhouse.  We have an equally varied and busy sailing calendar, aimed at all levels of experience and competitive sailing. The following pages give details of our sailing fixtures and social events. We subsequently publish the results of sailing events on the website. 

The WCA is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association and therefore has elected flag officers and general committee and official club burgee, which will be seen on all our member’s boats. 

I do hope that the site will give you a taste of Windermere Cruising Association and perhaps encourage you to join us for some part of the club's calendar of events. May I invite you to join us for any social event to serve as an introduction to our members, contact anyone with a club burgee to introduce yourself, or feel free to “just turn up”, and then find out more about the club, whether your interest is in sailing, social or racing, you are assured a warm welcome.
